Wartskin Frogfish / Angler - Antennarius maculatus: Wartskin Frogfish also referred to as the Warty Frogfish or Wartskin Frogfish, the Wartskin Angler is aptly named, looking more like a rock or piece of coral. The Wartskin's Angler colors can vary widely, from browns to reds, yellows to purples and white. It also has the chameleonic ability of changing color to blend with its surroundings.

The Wartskin Angler is a very attractive frogfish with nice colours. The large lure can be recognized easily and this frogfish is often seen luring. It is rather a small frogfish but within its range quite common and often seen by divers. Specially juveniles are frequently confused with Antennarius commerson and Antennarius pictus.

Since the Wartskin frogfish are sedentary fishes, their metabolism is quite low. Therefore, infrequent feedings of once or twice a week for adults and three or four times a week for juveniles is highly recommended. Small live fish/shrimp, preferably marine species, or frozen foodstuffs suspended/impaled on a long stick will suffice them .
